Archie Turba led home a field of 55 enthusiastic participants during Saturday’s staging of the Lakes Entrance parkrun.
It marked Turba’s 209th parkrun overall and his 12th appearance on the picturesque five-kilometre course along the esplanade. He completed the circuit in a swift 19 minutes and 24 seconds, while the consistent Mia Calleja was the first female finisher home in 21.09.
The weekly community event attracted 13 first-timers to the course, with four participants recording new personal best times and seven different running groups represented.
Personal bests were achieved by Ronshang Zhang (28.47), Tylor Benson (32.35), Grace Thierry (33.17) and Joy Mobberley (35.46).
Runners and walkers representing the Lakes and District Runners, Baw Baw Runners, Woodstock Runners, Beersheba Chargers, Derek Zoolander Centre for Kids Who Can’t Run Good, Australia Post Group and the Southern Peninsula Sporting Club were all spotted out on the course.
The Lakes Entrance parkrun departs from the esplanade rotunda at 8am every Saturday, welcoming participants of all ages, paces, and abilities. The free weekly event continues to attract a healthy mix of locals and visitors, offering a social and inclusive environment to stay active and connected.
