The Lakes Entrance Fire Brigade is opening its doors to the public for a special volunteer recruitment information session tonight Wednesday, July 22, calling on residents to help bolster both frontline and support ranks.
Brigade management stated that additional community-minded, everyday people are urgently needed to ensure the vital emergency service can continue to protect the local area effectively.
“We need additional community-minded people to fill our ranks, so if you have ever thought about volunteering, come on down,” the brigade said in a statement.
“Interested to know a little more? We’d love to see you there.”
Organisers emphasised that Country Fire Authority (CFA) brigades rely heavily on a diverse range of skills, noting that non-operational support roles are just as vital to keeping the station running as frontline firefighting positions. Whether community members want to be on the active frontline or support logistics from behind the scenes, the brigade offers pathways for all interests within its team-oriented crew.
Prospective volunteers of all backgrounds and ages are encouraged to attend the session to meet the current crew, ask questions and tour the facilities.
The recruitment night will start at 7.30pm at the Lakes Entrance Fire Station, located in Bulmer Street.
