The Sale Field and Game Association recently hosted a highly successful Interschool Championship, drawing a massive field of 115 competitors from across the Gippsland region.
Gippsland Grammar dominated the flagship overall team event, with the school’s number one squad securing the championship title with a superb score of 86/100. They managed to hold off a strong challenge from Nagle College, who claimed second place with 82/100, while the Gippsland Grammar number two team rounded out the podium in third with 76/100.
The individual divisions were hotly contested across the day, showcasing a high standard of marksmanship from the region’s up-and-coming shooters.
In the junior boys’ division, Myles Witt produced an outstanding performance to take out top honors, finishing ahead of Charlie Hall and Bryce Russell. The junior girls’ title was claimed by Dakota Cook, who proved too strong for runners-up Ella Missen and Myah Watson.
The senior events delivered plenty of tension on the ranges. Kai Marcolongo outlasted the competition to claim the senior boys’ crown, with Caleb Osler finishing in second place and Tom Hammond in third.
Meanwhile, Chloe Hughes-Gage walked away with the senior girls’ championship trophy following a stellar round, leading the field ahead of Imogen Carpenter and
Ebony Passarin.
