Members of the Glenmaggie and District Boat Club were in the thick of the action last weekend when the Victorian Australian Power Boat Association (APBA) held its annual presentation night.
After a highly competitive season on the water, Bailey Kanara claimed a well-earned third place in both the 25hp class and the 550cc divisions.
Bob Reid capped off a brilliant season by taking out the state title in the 85mph class. In a dominant podium clean-sweep for the local club, Andrew Reid finished second, while Jonathon Krusic secured third place in what was an impressive debut season of circuit boat racing.
In the six-litre open class, Tony Murphy piloted The Enforcer to a superb second-place finish in the state standings.
Meanwhile, Dan Krusic fought through a formidable field of rivals to pick up second place in the prestigious Len Owen Unlimited Trophy.
Capping off a successful night for the club, Jimmy Kanara was awarded the coveted Crew Person of the Year. Recognised for his tireless work running around the pits and helping out whenever needed at all race meetings, it was a thoroughly well-deserved trophy.
