Anglers from across the state are gearing up to drop a line in East Gippsland this month, with online registrations open for the highly anticipated 2026 Twin Rivers Bream Classic.
The premier regional fishing tournament will run from Friday, July 17 to Sunday, July 19, 2026, challenging competitors to navigate the region’s expansive estuarine waterways in pursuit of the ultimate bream catch.
Fishing times will officially kick off at 6pm on the Friday and extend through the weekend, concluding with the final catch submissions via the ‘Track My Fish’ digital app at 11.30am on Sunday.
Organisers have locked in a single central hub for the 2026 itinerary, with all in-person registrations, check-ns, and event proceedings consolidated at The Nicholson Hotel in Nicholson.
Online entries are open until 6pm on Friday, July 17.
For those looking to sign up on-site, the event committee will facilitate in-person registrations at the Nicholson Hotel on Friday, July 17, from 10am to 7pm, and Saturday, July 18, from 6am to 9am.
In addition to category prizes for performance on the water, all registered entrants will automatically go into the running for the event’s spectacular major prize draw: an Aquamaster 420 Heavy Duty Open Boat package.
The competition is expected to inject a significant off-season economic boost into the Twin Rivers area, drawing hundreds of boating and fishing enthusiasts to local caravan parks, bait shops, and hospitality businesses across the weekend.
