Josh Gibbs led the Lakes Entrance parkrun field home last Saturday morning in an impressive personal best time for the scenic five-kilometre course.
Gibbs led 52 other participants home in a time of 19 minutes and 25 seconds, finishing 29 seconds ahead of the first female finisher and second-placed overall, Charlie Darcy (19.54), who also recorded a personal best time.
Participants took to the course for fitness, fun and camaraderie, with the event attracting 12 first-time participants, while seven other personal bests were also recorded. Other runners to achieve new personal milestones included Nic McConachy (20.47), James Murphy (23.07), Timothy Patrick (29.53), Brendan Fiedler (31.11), Grace Thierry (37.01), Jon Becker (39.42) and Janene Becker (44.34).
Five different clubs were represented on the morning, including Lakes and District Runners, Southern Peninsula Sporting Club, Run Against Violence, Everlasting Fitness Runners, and Australia Post Group. Lakes Entrance parkrun departs from the rotunda at 8am every Saturday, welcoming participants of all ages and abilities. The weekly event continues to attract both locals and visitors, offering a social and inclusive way to stay active and connected.
