A new Early Learning Victoria centre will open in Nicholson and District next year, with families now able to apply for long day care and integrated kindergarten programs.
The new centre will deliver affordable and accessible early childhood education and care for children from birth to school age, including integrated three- and four-year-old kindergarten.
The new centre will feature natural outdoor play spaces to encourage positive interactions and play. It is one of six government-owned and operated early learning centres opening in regional areas next year, in addition to the 18 already operating around the state.
Families enrolled in integrated kindergarten programs receive a Free Kinder fee offset from the Victorian Government applied directly to their daily fees. This means real savings on the daily cost of care – up to $2101 per child each year for a 15-hour program. Out-of-pocket expenses are reduced, while your child benefits from a high-quality, teacher-led kindergarten program.
Early childhood education and care programs can make a significant difference to a child’s cognitive, social and emotional outcomes, including helping them make friends, communicate with others and manage their feelings.
Early Learning Victoria’s approach is child-centred, with a focus on learning through play and fostering strong connections to nature and local communities.
