It has come as a surprise, and with disappointment, that the Scallop Pot Bistro at the Lakes Entrance RSL will not be renewing its contract and will cease operations at the end of June.
Lakes Entrance RSL manager Jay Merino stated that the Scallop Pot was offered a contract renewal but declined to do so.
“We respect their decision and wish them all the best, 26 years is a long time in the community,” Mr Merino said.
“We are actively looking for a like-minded new tenant for the restaurant, so watch this space. We thank the public for their patience through this transition.”
Mr Merino pointed out that the Lakes Entrance RSL remains fully committed to finding the right tenant, hopefully in the near future. On a brighter note, he reported that major renovations to the building are progressing well.
“Everything is on schedule. In the latter end of the year we will see things starting to open up,” Mr Merino said.
