Residents of Eastern Beach Road will be relieved to hear that a project to improve stormwater management in Lakes Entrance has taken a crucial first step with the awarding of a construction contract for drainage improvement works along Eastern Beach Road.
This area has a history of flooding over many years with some residents’ home being inundated frequently throughout the years.
The East Gippsland Shire (EGS) has announced the works will help reduce localised flooding and improve the performance of drainage infrastructure and form part of their ongoing investment in essential infrastructure that supports local communities and helps keep roads and public spaces functioning well during periods of heavy rainfall.
“Construction is expected to commence in the coming weeks following finalisation of contract arrangements, with further information about timing and any temporary traffic or access impacts to be provided before works begin,” EGS stated.
“We look forward to delivering these important improvements and thank the community for its patience and understanding while the works are underway.”
