The local schools Reconciliation Day was hosted by Toorloo Arm Primary School (TAPS) last Wednesday with students from TAPS, Lakes Entrance Primary School, St Brendan’s Primary School and Lakes Entrance Secondary College participating in the ceremony. They then joined a packed day of cultural activities, as well as enjoying doughnuts for morning tea and a barbecue lunch.

Pauline Roget and Lakes Entrance Secondary College Acting Principal Dan Clark accompanied some LESC students to the Reconciliation Day.
Toorloo Arm Primary School student Brysen Jonkers spoke proudly of his aboriginal heritage at the Reconciliation Assembly and much to his delight found a connection with Uncle Rex Solomon.
Uncle Rex Solomon conducted the Smoking Ceremony and was joined by Ben Rotheram, TAPS principal Allison Hopkins, Julie Bryant-Saunders, Pauline Roget and Lakes Entrance Primary School principal Simon Prior.
Sebastian Knaggs, Vincent Dart and Jovan Pantic from Lakes Entrance Primary School were doing some chalk drawings.
Toorloo Arm Primary School students Willow Douglas, Zoe Nairn, Katarlis Atherton-Gordon, Isaac Whitford and Brysen Jonkers spoke at the assembly.
