To encourage good behaviour and sportsmanship in their junior competitions, the Lakes Entrance Amateur Basketball Association (LEABA) will be implementing the LEABA Tech Foul/Unsportsmanlike Tally in the current under 16 and under 19 competitions.
This policy will help ensure a safe and welcoming competition for everyone, while reassuring club officials that unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated.
As guided by both LEABA bylaws and Basketball Victoria’s Codes of Conduct, a player who receives a technical foul will spend five minutes in the sin bin.
Any player who receives two technical or unsportsmanlike fouls in one game will be ejected from the stadium and serve a one-week playing suspension.
A player who receives three technical or unsportsmanlike fouls over the course of the season will serve a one-week suspension.
If a player receives four technical or unsportsmanlike fouls for the season, they will serve a two-week suspension.
Accumulating five technical or unsportsmanlike fouls during the season will result in a five-week suspension.
