A huge day of action unfolded at the Sale Golf Club on Monday for the 2026 grand finals of the Golf East Gippsland women’s pennant competition.
This year’s competition saw eight clubs compete throughout the season, with the thrilling finale played on the beautiful surrounds at Sale. Competition was red-hot all day, with two of the three division titles decided on extra holes.
South Pines took out the division one title with a gritty 3-2 victory over their opponents, secured on the 20th hole in a nail-biting finish.
Division two followed a remarkably similar script, with Metung Country Club prevailing over Newry/Heyfield 3-2 after the final match went to the 19th hole.
Metung Country Club enjoyed double success on the day, also claiming the division three title with a 3-2 win over host club Sale.
Golf East Gippsland officials were delighted to see a large contingent of spectators out on the course taking in the spectacular golfing action.
