In what is becoming a regular occurrence, Adam Evans led home last Saturday’s edition of the Lakes Entrance parkrun, which attracted 55 enthusiastic participants.
Evans completed the five-kilometre course along the picturesque esplanade in 18 minutes and 12 seconds, not far off the previous week’s effort.
Mia Calleja (22.42) was the first female across the line, with participants taking on the course for a range of reasons, including fitness, fun and camaraderie.
There were 10 first-timers completing their initial parkrun at Lakes Entrance, with six of them completing their very first parkrun.
Runners to achieve new personal bests included Blake Howden (23.32), Ann-Marie Darcy (23.56), Peter Stadler (25.53), local basketball star Natalie Bire (27.39), Saul Carnegie (32.03) and Jenny Wagstaff (32.28).
Participants represented six clubs, including Lakes and District Runners, Southern Peninsula Sporting Club, Everlasting Fitness Runners, Australia Post Group and the Turtles.
Lakes Entrance parkrun departs from the rotunda at 8am every Saturday, welcoming participants of all ages and abilities.
The weekly event continues to attract both locals and visitors, offering a social and inclusive way to stay active and connected.
