The weather is getting colder, but the enthusiasm of members at the Lakes Entrance Golf Club certainly cannot be questioned, with strong numbers continuing to tee up for every event.

Brad Hay won “A” grade and Alan Radford claimed “B” grade honours in last week’s Ruthless and Toothless competition.

Bernie Hoppe was the master of the putter with 13 putts, while Donald Hay was the popular winner of the NAGA award.

Wednesday’s 4BBB medley stableford was taken out by the popular duo of Renee Percival and Katrina Fearnley with an impressive 44 points, finishing two shots clear of Bette Severs and Margaret McManus.

Thursday attracted 68 entries for the medley stableford, won by “A” grade player Steve Smith with 37 points on countback from Graham Wells and Jamie Coates.

Melesia Johnson showed the boys how it was done, winning “B” grade, while Wells also collected the “C” grade honours.

Coates was on target at the par threes, claiming two nearest-the-pin awards.

Saturday saw 103 players hit the fairways, with popular “D” grade player Apola Weel leading the field with an impressive 40 points.

Other winners included Matthew Stevens (“A” grade), Murray Webb (“B” grade) and the in-form Peter Nicholas in “C” grade.

Percival again displayed her immense skill set, winning two nearest-the-pin awards.
