Lakes Entrance Secondary College is proud to congratulate year 12 student and college captain Alexis Smart on her selection to represent Australia in hockey.
Alexis and her family were thrilled to learn this week that she has been selected in the Australia Wanderers team and will travel to Europe later this year, where she will compete against teams from England, Belgium, the Netherlands and France.
Adding to an already exciting year, Alexis will also compete in the Sydney International Tournament in June with Bobby’s Coaching Australia, where she will face teams from Malaysia, Japan and Singapore.
The achievement reflects the hard work, dedication and commitment Alexis has consistently shown throughout her hockey journey. Balancing the demands of Year 12 alongside training, travel and competition is no small feat, and those who know her say her determination, resilience and positive attitude continue to set her apart both on and off the field.
Her success is also a credit to the strong support and commitment shown by her parents and family over many years, with countless hours spent travelling, supporting and encouraging her as she pursued her passion for hockey.
Lakes Entrance Secondary College acting principal Daniel Clark said the school community was incredibly proud of Alexis and her achievements.
“Alexis is a fantastic role model for our students and school community,” Mr Clark said.
“To be given the opportunity to represent Australia is an outstanding achievement and one that is thoroughly deserved.”
Alexis’ selection is something the wider Lakes Entrance community can also take pride in, with many no doubt set to follow her journey as she prepares to represent Australia on the international stage.
