The Omeo community will lace up its walking shoes this month for a fundraising event supporting Omeo District Health Urgent Care.
The Walk the Trails Omeo event will be held on Sunday, May 17, from 9am to 1pm, with participants gathering at Livingstone Park before exploring some of the district’s scenic walking trails, including the Oriental Claims area.
Organised by the Omeo Community Hall and Hub Committee of Management, the fundraiser aims to combine community spirit, outdoor activity and support for local health services.
Participants will be able to choose from four different walks, catering for a range of ages and fitness levels.
All participants will receive a goodie bag and go into a lucky participant prize draw, with organisers promising a one-in-10 chance of winning. A barbecue sausage will also be provided at the conclusion of the walks.
Prize draws and the raffle will be held at 1pm, with participants required to be present to claim lucky draw prizes.
Organisers have capped the event at 100 participants and are encouraging people to book early.
