Saturday saw the playing of the board event, the mixed foursomes championship, at the Lakes Entrance Golf Club, with Paul Mifsud and Jenny Dowie outscoring 23 other combinations.
They finished with a score of 71, one-and-a-half shots ahead of Ruth McPhee and Steven Smith, who were placed second on countback from Justin Gray and Renee Percival.
The gross winners were former champions Brett Stokes and Melesia Johnson, who finished with an 83.
They were looking for a three peat in the event but it wasn’t to be.
The combination of Norm Backman and Sherrie Elliott also had a good day, with both winning dual nearest-the-pin awards.
Saturday’s stableford event attracted a field of 52 and was won by “A” grade player Bernie Cornell with 39 points, narrowly ahead of “B” grade winner Sam Douglass and “C” grade victor Margaret Ellis.
Sue Wilson had a superb round on Wednesday to win the women’s monthly medal with an outstanding score of six under.
Consistent ladies club champion Renee Percival continued her strong recent form, taking out “A” grade with minus one on countback from Peter Kane.
As is often the case, Percival was around the mark in the nearest-the-pin events, winning two.
Tuesday’s Ruthless and Toothless saw Stuart Symes victorious in “A” grade from David Hatt on countback, while Tony Fedat hung on for a one-shot win in “B” grade from Roy Roberts.
Gray was the putting master with just 12 putts, while Peter Nicholas’ frustrating round saw him pocket the NAGA.
Carole Dostine was an easy winner of Young and the Rest of Us, finishing three shots clear of Judith Collins.
