The East Gippsland Football Netball League will be represented at interleague level in 2026, competing in the under 18 competition alongside the Gippsland League, West Gippsland Football Netball League, Mid Gippsland Football Netball League, North Gippsland Football Netball League and Ellinbank and District Football Netball League.
The competition will be split into two pools, with each side playing the others in their group plus a crossover match. East Gippsland will compete in Pool B alongside West Gippsland and Ellinbank.
Matches will consist of two 20-minute halves, with the top team in each pool progressing to play off for the title.
Plenty of discussion took place at a recent meeting regarding the tournament format, with the final structure seen as the most balanced option. It is designed to maximise playing time while allowing appropriate recovery between matches, ensuring players gain both increased game exposure and adequate rest.
The Morwell Recreation Reserve is the likely venue for this year’s carnival.
