The Maffra and District Car Club hosted its second hillclimb event of the year last weekend at Boisdale, with competitors tackling testing conditions.
Light rain and a strong headwind set the scene for the gravel course, creating a challenging run that drivers were keen to take on.
In the junior category, Cooper Miller set the benchmark with a quickest time of 47.97 seconds, narrowly ahead of Mason Beattie (48.22) and Declan Storer (49.03). The junior field produced a tight contest overall, with only seconds separating competitors.
A similarly close battle unfolded in the ladies class, where Jodie Jones claimed top honours in 48.57 seconds. Lee Wallace finished second in 49.33, ahead of Molly Grist in 50.93, highlighting strong depth across the category.
Greg Ackland took out overall honours with a blistering run of 40.77 seconds for the event.
Callum Duve was awarded Best Presented for his striking number 11 blue Mitsubishi Lancer.
The club is encouraging participation across its events, with an upcoming Junior Development Day offering an opportunity for new and aspiring drivers to get involved.
The next hillclimb event will be held on May 23, with competitors to tackle both short and long course layouts.
