The Wellington Early Years Expo is set to return to the Gippsland Regional Sports Complex (GRSC) on Thursday, April 30, offering families an afternoon of play-based learning and essential community connection.
Proudly hosted by Uniting Vic.Tas in partnership with Wellington Shire Council, Ramahyuck, and Central Gippsland Health, the free event is specifically tailored for families with children aged birth to five years. The expo serves as a one-stop-shop, bringing together local early years services, health organizations, and educational professionals in a welcoming, family-friendly environment.
Parents and carers can speak directly with kindergarten teachers and early years experts to access practical information regarding child development, while children enjoy a
variety of hands-on activities, including the ever-popular inflatables.
Wellington Shire Council Mayor Cr Cindy Madeley said the expo is a vital resource for the Shire.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for families to speak face-to-face with professionals, ask questions, and learn more about the support available locally,” Cr Madeley said.
“It’s about creating a friendly space where people feel comfortable connecting while the little ones have a really enjoyable afternoon.”
Building on the success of previous years, the 2026 event promises to be more interactive than ever, with new activities joining the program to ensure there is something fresh to discover for returning families.
The event highlights a strong regional commitment to the health and development of young children, providing a supportive environment where families can learn through play and strengthen local ties.
Families are welcome to drop in at any time during the afternoon. To help with planning, attendees are encouraged to register their interest via TryBooking (search for ‘Wellington Early Years Expo’) or by following the Council’s event page on Facebook.
