THUMBS UP: A sincere thank you to the ambos, surf club, hospital staff and members of the public who assisted when I had an incident at the Lakes Entrance ANZAC Service on Saturday.
THUMBS DOWN: There was a violent brawl in the Nicholson Street Mall last week involving intoxicated individuals, with incidents spilling into a bank and distressing staff and customers. It is concerning that CCTV in the precinct is reportedly not operational, leaving police to rely on private footage.
THUMBS DOWN: To the man who confronted a mother and her son during a supermarket meltdown. THUMBS UP: To the staff who apologised for the incident and to the fellow shopper who checked on the wellbeing of the mother and child.
THUMBS DOWN: To those displaying Australian flags without observing correct protocol, including failing to lower flags appropriately on ANZAC Day.
THUMBS UP: To Lakes Entrance RSL for a well-organised ANZAC service on Saturday, with strong youth attendance. Lest we forget.
THUMBS DOWN: To a local waste contractor who reportedly continued bin collection during the ANZAC dawn service, including reversing trucks and compacting bins, rather than pausing for the duration of the ceremony.
