Regular Bairnsdale parkrun participant Ethan Sanderson took part in last Saturday’s Lakes Entrance parkrun, leading the field home in a slick time.
Despite being only in his early 20s, Sanderson was completing his 316th parkrun and recorded a personal best. He covered the five-kilometre course along the Esplanade in 17 minutes and 16 seconds, an outstanding effort.
Sanderson was among an impressive field of 71 participants who took to the course for fitness, fun and camaraderie.
Prior to the start of the event, ANZAC Day was acknowledged.
The first female across the line was Mia Calleja in 22.32. The event also welcomed nine first-time participants and saw seven personal best performances recorded.
Alongside Sanderson, personal bests were achieved by Brandon Smith (22.32), Blake Howden (24.49), Julia Pho (28.41), Rongshang Zhang (28.55), Jaimie Corrie (29.00), Kelly Smith (30.45) and Dayna Walliker (30.50).
