Victoria Police is inviting East Gippsland residents and local service providers to join a community-focused Neighbourhood Policing Forum on Thursday, May 28.
The event, held at the Bairnsdale RSL from 1-4pm, is designed to give community members a direct line of communication with local police to discuss the safety issues that matter most to them. A Victoria Police panel will lead the discussion, exploring a wide range of topics that impact the region, including:
– Current crime trends and practical crime prevention strategies.
– Issues affecting young people in the district.
– Family violence awareness and response.
– Road policing and local traffic safety.
– Drugs and drug-related crime within the community.
The forum will be highly interactive, with the panel taking questions from the audience throughout the afternoon. Residents also have the opportunity to submit questions prior to the event to ensure specific concerns are addressed.
The forum is an important part of the Neighbourhood Policing model, which focuses on proactive engagement and collaboration between police and the communities they serve.
