Last Saturday’s Lakes Entrance parkrun was held in cool, windy conditions, with numbers down on the previous week’s turnout.
A field of 36 participants took part, with Adam Evans leading the way in a personal best time of 18 minutes and seven seconds.
Despite the testing weather, five personal bests were recorded and six runners completed the event for the first time.
The first female home was Jacqui Shannon, who completed the five-kilometre course along the picturesque Esplanade in 23:42.
Personal bests were also achieved by Clinton Whelan (23.31), Blake Howden (25.36), Jayde Martin (34.32) and Chris Gilbert (38.29).
Runners represented five clubs, including Lakes and District Runners, Southern Peninsula Sporting Club, Everlasting Fitness Runners, Australia Post Group and East Gippsland Runners.
Lakes Entrance parkrun departs from the Rotunda at 8am every Saturday, welcoming participants of all ages and abilities.
The weekly event continues to attract locals and visitors alike, providing an opportunity to improve fitness, meet like-minded runners, or simply enjoy a social Saturday morning outdoors.
