The Lakes Entrance under 13s recorded their first win of the 2026 East Gippsland Junior Football Associationseason last Sunday, defeating Paynesville by five goals at AJ Freeman Reserve.
After pushing Wy Yung in round one, the Seagulls had the answers early, taking control of the contest in the opening term.
John Sowden, Declan Bills and Jude Campisi all found space inside forward 50 kicking two goals each, while the Seagulls’ defence stood firm whenever Paynesville pushed forward.
Paynesville battled hard and improved as the match progressed, but was no match for the polished Seagulls outfit. Best players included Bills, Billy Haim, Jake Christison, Jacob Spiker, Sowden and the creative Jaxon Linn.
Earlier, the under 11s enjoyed a strong hit-out against the Gulls, relishing the wide expanses of Paynesville Oval. The under 15 side had the bye, with Paynesville unable to field a team.
The Seagulls will host Bairnsdale at Lakeside Oval this Sunday.
