Last Saturday’s Lakes Entrance parkrun was staged in cool and windy conditions, with numbers significantly down on the previous week’s large turnout.
The field attracted 69 participants and was led home by Ben Liondas in a personal best time of 19 minutes and three seconds.
Despite the less-than-ideal conditions, there were still eight personal bests recorded, with five runners taking part in their very first parkrun and a further 24 having their first look at the five-kilometre Lakes Entrance course along the picturesque Esplanade.
The first woman home was Sophie Kamperis (22.57), in her first run on the course.
Personal best times were recorded by Stuart Harper, Zac Robinson, Tracey Harper, Jemma Forrester, Dayna Walliker, Jusy Eastman and Joel Webber.
Runners represented seven clubs, including Lakes and District Runners, Southern Peninsula Sporting Club, Everlasting Fitness Runners, Pakenham Road Runners, BCR, Spotto, and Runs
with a Barcode.
The Lakes Entrance parkrun departs from the Rotunda at 8am every Saturday, welcoming participants of all ages and abilities.
The event is ideal for improving fitness, meeting like-minded people, or simply enjoying a fun Saturday morning outdoors.
