In less than a fortnight, the first aircraft will begin touching down at West Sale Airport as preparations ramp up for one of Gippsland’s most anticipated events – the ANZAC Week Airshow.
Taking place on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19, 2026, the airshow promises a thrilling weekend of high-energy aerial displays, aviation excellence, and family-friendly entertainment, drawing visitors from across Victoria and beyond.
Set to take to the skies, the Royal Australian Air Force Roulettes will return home to Sale to deliver their signature precision formation flying in a special hometown showcase.
Joining them in the skies will be some of Australia’s most celebrated aviators, including former RAAF fighter pilot and international Red Bull Air Race champion Matt Hall, renowned stunt pilot Paul Bennet, and a dynamic lineup of aerobatic performers, historic warbirds, and modern aircraft demonstrations.
Beyond the aerial spectacle, the ANZAC Week Airshow offers a full day of immersive on-ground experiences for attendees of all ages.
Visitors can enjoy a vibrant program of activities including a vintage fashion show, interactive exhibitor displays, food vendors, live music and family entertainment, offering a festival atmosphere both in the air and on the ground.
“The airshow is not only a celebration of aviation, but also a tribute to the spirit of ANZAC Week, bringing communities together to reflect, remember, and inspire future aviators and the local community,” event director Nicholas Heath said.
Thanks to the support of the Wellington Shire, this year’s event is set to be the largest collaboration between Gippsland businesses in the events history, encouraging locals to get involved and showcase the very best the region has to offer.
With strong ticket demand already building, attendees are encouraged to secure their place early.
