For almost a year, Lily Mackay has been receiving treatment at the Royal Children’s Hospital for serious burns.
On Good Friday, she returned the favour by volunteering to ride out in a fire truck to collect donations for the hospital that has supported her so much.
Parents Ash and Cass Mackay said Lily is healing well following a nasty accident and still has eight months of compression therapy and silicone treatment ahead.
“We couldn’t be more grateful to her surgeon, doctors, and nurses who have helped her along the way,” they said.
“We have so much pride in Lily for how resilient she has been, and today she has shown her appreciation by joining the CFA to collect donations for the Good Friday Appeal.”
