St Brendan’s Catholic Primary School recently celebrated Harmony Day, a day dedicated to connecting with and learning about other cultures.
Students Lincoln and Maddox prepared the following account of the day:
“We celebrated by sharing knowledge and enjoying foods from different cultures. Parents generously prepared dishes including fried rice, butter chicken, beef bulgogi, chicken fajitas, and stuffed bread rolls — all absolutely delicious. We also wore orange, the official colour of Harmony Day, which represents social interaction and meaningful conversations. We hope everyone had a wonderful time and learnt more about other cultures.”
Earlier in the day, students built up an appetite with a cross-country run. Despite a little rain and mist, spirits remained high.
Luna (Year 1) said: “I liked cross country. I came second out of the girls. It was really easy, and I had to run around both ovals. I got chicken fajitas for lunch and I am ready to win next year.”
Lylah (Foundation) added: “I loved the cross country. I did really well and can’t wait to do it again. It was easy and I got fried rice for lunch.”
Jesse (Year 4) said: “I like cross country. I came second and it was pretty easy, except for the last 100 metres when I got overtaken. I had chicken fajitas for lunch and I can’t wait to go to Nagle and run again next year.”
