The Lakes Entrance Golf Club finalised its club championships last week, but it certainly has quelled the interest, with weekly events still attracting solid numbers.

Last Tuesday at Ruthless and Toothless, 35 players teed up, with John Melrose taking “A” grade and Rex Mockett “B’ grade.

The putting award was taken out by Brad Hay, with just 11, with Reg Kennedy taking home the NAGA.

Scoring was competitive at Young and the Rest of Us, with three players finishing on 40.

Rhonda Beckett the winner from Stella Taylor and Judith Collins.

Taylor continued her good form on Wednesday, winning the medley stableford on Women’s Lunch Day.

Her score of 39 points,

good enough to take “B” grade and overall victory.

Hayley Cotton was successful in “A” grade with 37 points.

The weather affected numbers last Thursday, with 45 players braving the elements.

The long hitting Norm Backman the winner of “A” grade and overall with 39 points.

Classy left hander, David Murrell nailed “B’ grade with 36 points, with Dallas Riseley rewarded for his 38 points, with victory in “C” grade.

Lucky Whelan was a dominant winner of both “A” grade and overall on

Saturday, shooting a sensational 41 points.

Murrell’s good form continued, this time getting away with “B” grade on countback, with 33 points.

Wes Coad was triumphant in “C” grade on countback from Chris Clarke after they both had 38 points.

Jenny Dowie nabbed “D” grade with 36 points.
