Last Thursday night, Toorloo Arm Primary School came alive as students danced through the decades.
Savannah from Kinect2Dance spent four days with the students, teaching each class group a different routine reflecting the music of their allocated decade.
Enthusiastic students returned to school on Thursday night, ready to perform in front of a packed crowd of families and friends.
The prep/grade one students kicked off the evening dressed for the pool, dancing along to the 1950s hit Splish, Splash by Bobby Darin.
This was followed by a rock-and-roll group of grade three/four students, who performed to Old Time Rock ‘n’ Roll by Bob Seger.
Grade one/two students then took the stage, enjoying their performance to the 1970s hit Blame It on the Boogie by the Jackson Five.
Next, another group of grade three/fours, dressed as Egyptians and mummies, entertained the crowd with Walk Like an Egyptian by The Bangles.
The grade five/six students moved into the 1980s, dancing to the streetwise hit It’s Like That by Run DMC and the line-dancing favourite Footloose by Kenny Logins.
The grand finale brought all the students back on stage to dance together to the appropriately named We Are Family by Sister Sledge.
A fantastic night was had by all students, teachers and families alike.
