The distinctive hum of classic Japanese engineering echoed through the streets of Lakes Entrance as the 2026 Datsun Roadster Nationals arrived for a spectacular coastal showcase last Saturday.
Car enthusiasts from across the country converged on the Gippsland Lakes, marking the celebration of the iconic Datsun models.
The festival’s crown jewel, the public Show and Shine, took place on the Lakes Entrance foreshore and was transformed into a sea of polished chrome and vibrant retro paintwork, featuring some of the rarest and best-preserved roadsters in the Southern Hemisphere.
Local residents and visitors were invited to wander the rows of classic convertibles, which were produced between 1962 and 1970 and remain a symbol of the golden age of sports cars.
Owners were on hand to share the history of their vehicles, many of which have been painstakingly restored over decades.
