Conditions were markedly different, but for the second consecutive week Adam Evans led the field home at last Saturday’s Lakes Entrance parkrun.
With rain threatening, 52 committed participants turned out for the weekly five-kilometre run along the picturesque esplanade. Evans completed the course in 19 minutes 27 seconds.
Nicole Jackson was the first female across the line, finishing in 21:26 on her first outing on the course.
Runners took part for fitness and enjoyment, with 10 first-timers welcomed and seven participants achieving personal best times despite the less-than-ideal conditions.
Those to record personal bests were Mathew Evans (23.32), Remi Perera (24.57), Bec Voss (26.30), Jeffrey Hey (27.24), Ellie Darcy (29.45), Melina Perera (28.07) and Lee-Ann Moore (39.39).
Participants represented a mix of local and visiting clubs, including Lakes and District Runners, Everlasting Fitness Runners, Southern Peninsula Sports Club, Knox Triathlon, Pakenham Road Runners and the Derek Zoolander Centre for Kids Who Can’t Run Good.
Lakes Entrance parkrun is held every Saturday at 8am, starting from the Rotunda, and welcomes runners and walkers of all abilities.
