The annual Opera by the Lakes concert was held on March 15 at Nyerimilang Heritage Park at Nungurner, once again attracting a strong audience for an afternoon of world-class music in a lakeside setting.
The event showcased a line-up of acclaimed performers, including soprano Georgia Wilkinson, Opera Australia tenor Daniel Belle, Australian Idol 2025 finalist William Le Brun, and accompanist and choir director Simon Loveless.
They were joined on stage by local talent Maddie Crombie and Maddie Clark, accompanied by Julie Lockhart, adding a strong Gippsland presence to the program.
Pre-concert entertainment was provided by the East Gippsland Brass Band and the East Gippsland Symphonia, setting the tone for the afternoon’s performances.
Organisers said the event once again delivered a memorable experience for attendees, with reserved seating, boxed lunches, and on-site refreshments including a wine bar, coffee and cakes contributing to the relaxed, festival-style atmosphere.
Set against the backdrop of the Gippsland Lakes, the concert continues to be a popular fixture on the regional arts calendar,
combining high-calibre opera with a unique outdoor setting.
