The Lakes Entrance Country Fire Authority (CFA) brigade is calling on community-minded locals to join its ranks, with a range of roles available for those keen to support emergency services in the region.
The brigade is currently recruiting for several key positions, including operational roles for those willing to respond to fires, road accidents and other emergencies. No prior experience is required, with all volunteers provided comprehensive training through the CFA’s General Firefighter course, along with ongoing support.
For those not suited to frontline duties, a variety of non-operational roles are also available.
These include administration, finance, logistics, fundraising, social media and community education, all of which play a vital role in keeping the brigade running effectively.
Members are also involved in community engagement activities such as local events, school visits and fire safety awareness programs, helping ensure Lakes Entrance remains well prepared.
Brigade representatives say volunteering with the CFA offers a rewarding opportunity to give back to the local community while developing new skills and building connections within a supportive, team-oriented environment.
All required equipment and protective clothing are provided at no cost.
People of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Prospective volunteers can register their interest online via the official CFA website or visit the Lakes Entrance Fire Brigade at 12 Bulmer Street.
An information evening will also be held at the Lakes Entrance Fire Station on Bulmer Street at 7.30pm on July 22, 2026, for anyone interested in learning more about joining the brigade.
