THUMBS UP: A handful of thumbs up to the incredibly kind and generous lady who anonymously paid my fuel bill after I discovered I had left my wallet at home. Upon returning to settle my account, I was told of her kindness. Whoever you are, thank you. Your generosity knows no boundaries.
THUMBS UP: Thanks to the many volunteers and club members who gave up their time for Bairnsdale Field and Game, who once again hosted the 2026 Riviera Schools Clay Target Championship. Student behaviour was outstanding, a true credit to their sport, schools, families, and supporting clubs. Congratulations to individual winners and to Orbost Community College, Gippsland Grammar, and Nagle College team winners.
THUMBS UP: To East Gippslanders and the Advertiser for getting involved in, and reporting on, 22 different sports activities last week (hope none were missed!) — from pickleball to darts, remote control cars to model aero club, yachting to table tennis, plus the usual higher-profile sports. Plenty to keep everyone busy.
