Last Saturday’s Lakes Entrance parkrun attracted 79 participants, with Adam Evans leading the field home.
He completed the five-kilometre course along the scenic Lakes Entrance esplanade in 18 minutes 32 seconds.
Mia Calleja was the first female finisher, crossing the line in an impressive personal best of 20 minutes 36 seconds.
Runners took part for fitness, fun, and enjoyment, with organisers thrilled to see 32 first-timers join the event.
Eleven other participants also achieved personal bests: Chris Lee (24.30), Caroline Evans (25.11), Sam Nooy (25.44), Jeffrey Hey (27.27), Hayden Nooy (27.37), Mason Lee (28.07), Charli Richardson (30.26), Dayna Walliker (31.20), Jayde Martin (35.22), Chris Gilbert (38.42), and Bev White (48.47).
Participants represented a variety of local and visiting clubs, including M2R: Mullum Mullum Runners, Lakes and District Runners, Shenley Striders, Gippsland Track Club, Everlasting Fitness Runners, and Southern Peninsula Sports Club.
The event was supported by the volunteer efforts of Alison Doucette, Glenn Reggardo, Alan Drayton, Kaye Hallam, Jude Everett, and Margaret Rowley.
Lakes Entrance parkrun departs
each Saturday at 8am from the Rotunda, welcoming both seasoned runners and newcomers alike.
