Fishing action heats up

OFFSHORE: Casey Harris and Nadine Dekleva landed this nice swordfish over the weekend, aboard Bad Habits. (PS)

The fish continue to bite regularly, leaving plenty of anglers with smiles on their faces.

Lakes Entrance: Salmon are chasing metal lures throughout the lakes system, while prawns remain plentiful. Whiting behind Flannigan Island are biting on live sandworm and pipis. Lake Bunga Beach is producing decent-sized salmon and snapper, while offshore anglers are landing flathead, gummies, gurnard, and mackerel on a mix of baits.

Lake Tyers: The system continues to offer great fishing and prawning, with good-sized flathead being caught on soft plastics. Bream are taking vibration blades, and tailor are chasing pilchards.

Metung: Mulloway are being caught from the boardwalk, with the occasional kingfish also taking lures.

OFFSHORE: Cullun and crew onboard Dick H were rewarded for making their third trip to Lakes Entrance with this magnificent swordfish. (PS)

LAKE TYERS: Paul Hilton landed this lovely black bream in Lake Tyers over the weekend. (PS)
