After almost a year’s hiatus, the Lakes Entrance Girl Singers (LEGS) have returned to making music.
“Unfortunately, as with so many groups over the years, our numbers have somewhat dwindled, but we are very keen to continue as singing brings so much joy to the singers, and those listening,” Kay Poynton said.
Over the past decade, LEGS have provided entertainment for the local community through charity fundraising performances, visits to care homes, participation in the annual East Gippsland Choir Festival, and Christmas carols at various venues.
Kay encouraged women of all ages to join.
“If you are female, love to sing and want to be involved in a friendly and inclusive group of like-minded ladies, we would love to hear from you. You do not need any prior singing experience and will not be asked to sing solo unless you choose to. We teach singing in parts, so everyone can experience the joy of harmony,” she said.
John and Kay Poynton are inviting interested singers to get in touch. Contact details are available from Lakes Post.
