The 2026 East Gippsland Convoy for Kids was a huge success over the weekend, with 367 trucks lining the runway at Great Lakes Airport in Lakes Entrance and thousands of spectators turning out to support the charity event.
From Traralgon to Orbost, adults and children lined the roads to cheer the convoy as it rolled through local towns, celebrating the region’s transport industry and showing support for families facing the challenges of a cancer diagnosis.
Perfect weather welcomed families and truck enthusiasts who enjoyed seeing a mix of local trucks and specialised vehicles on display.
The event raises funds for Camp Quality and Angel Flights, two
charities providing vital services to the community.
Truck drivers and their partners dedicated countless hours preparing their vehicles, attending the sold-out industry dinner, and participating in auctions to boost fundraising. Rising diesel prices did not deter participants, demonstrating the transport community’s commitment.
Organisers thanked the community, businesses, and volunteers for their generosity, highlighting the crucial support from Great Lakes Airport and special guests, including Camp Quality, Truck’n with Tim, and Through the Gears.
The committee will announce
the total funds raised in the
coming weeks.
The Convoy for Kids is held every four years, with the next event scheduled for March 2030.
