Two of East Gippsland’s brightest young football talents have earned spots on VFL lists for the 2026 season.
Bairnsdale Football Netball Club powerhouse Jonah Walker has been selected for the Casey Demons VFL side, linking in with the Redlegs program when not selected. Walker combines height, speed, and strength, making him a formidable presence on the field. After a standout season in the seniors and with Gippsland Power last year, his VFL opportunity is a well-earned step up.
Meanwhile, Lindenow South product Zachary O’Keefe, who has played with Maffra Football Netball Club and Gippsland Power, will join Richmond. Known for his nimble footwork and creativity, O’Keefe is well suited to VFL football and looks set to be a perfect fit for the Tigers.
