Lakes Entrance concluded its 2025/26 Bairnsdale Cricket Association “B” grade season on Saturday with a disappointing loss to Metung Swan Reach at the Swan Reach Recreation Reserve.
The Seagulls finished the season at the bottom of the ladder, with just two wins and 11 losses.
Sent in to bat, Lakes Entrance was dismissed for 78 in the 39th over. The innings had shown promise at 3/49, but the tail collapsed as Forhad Haque claimed 4/21, ably supported by skipper Sam Tindley-Roe, who took 3/3 from four overs.
Top scorer for the Seagulls was Ryan Summerton with 20, while co-captain Jacob Daly (14) and Lachlan Ymer (11) were the only other batsmen to reach double figures.
In reply, Metung Swan Reach raced to the target in just 11 overs, losing two wickets along the way. Blake Herridge finished 28 not out, with Haque (14) and Peter Greenwood (16) also contributing to a quick finish. Lachlan and Enver Ymer each picked up a wicket for the Seagulls.
The “B” grade finals will see Wy Yung face Lucknow, while Bruthen takes on Paynesville.
