Construction has officially begun on an exciting new building project at Lakes Entrance Primary School, marking a major step forward after two years of planning and preparation.
“Today we welcomed Damien and the team from Eastern Victorian Construction Group, who are starting with temporary fencing and the demolition of our current buildings,” LEPS principal Simon Prior said.
“The new facility will feature modern classrooms, collaborative learning spaces, upgraded technology infrastructure and flexible areas, including a new library, art room and STEM space to support creativity and innovation.
“We look forward to watching this vision take shape over the next year and to welcoming students into a dynamic new space built to support their success for years to come.”
Mr Prior also reported the school year has started strongly.
“Students are happy to be back, and it has been a very calm and settled start to the school year.
“Last Friday, the whole school enjoyed a Beach Day and barbecue. The day was a fun way for everyone to come together, enjoy the outdoors and celebrate the start of the year,” he said.
“We have welcomed two new teachers to the school, Sam Barlow and Tammy Estcourt,” Mr Prior said.
Twenty-one prep students have started their schooling at Lakes Entrance Primary and have also settled in well.
“It’s been an exciting start to the year, with our Prep students jumping into school life with big smiles and lots of enthusiasm,” Prep teacher Jess Rowland said.
“Over the past few weeks, students have been busy making new friends, learning classroom routines and finding their feet in their new school environment.
“We are so proud of how well our Prep students have settled in and can’t wait to see them continue to grow and learn throughout the year,” Ms Rowland said.
