The annual Country Week of Tennis has wrapped up for another year, with the 2026 edition of this much-loved tournament smashing records.
This years event eclipsed last years record with 258 teams and over 1400 registered players hitting the courts at the Shepparton Lawn Tennis Club and Mooroopna Lawn Tennis Club from February 8-13.
Mayor, councillor Shane Sali was delighted with what the event brings to the region.
“Country Week is more than a sporting event – it brings people together, strengthens community spirit and welcomes thousands of visitors to our region,” Sali said.
Finals were played on the grass courts at Mooroopna closing out a big week of tennis, with the Traralgon Gippes awarded the Gilchrist Pearce Cup, an award nominated by the Country Week players for any team across the tournament who have exemplified the spirit of Country Week.
Women’s section one saw the Maryborough Middies defeat Tandara, last year’s winners, while in men’s section one the title was claimed by Bathurst Beers defeating Espresso Martini’s.
Tennis Victoria is also keen to announce next year’s location has been set, with Albury Wodonga locked in to host.
The 2027 Tennis Victoria Country Week will take place from February 7-12 at the Albury Tennis Club and Wodonga Tennis Centre.
The Albury Wodonga area is known for natural beauty and heritage with Country Week set to embrace the surroundings
utilising courts along both sides of the Murray River border.
Registrations for Tennis Victoria Country Week 2027 in Albury Wodonga will open mid 2026.
