Another competitive week of golf at Lakes Entrance Golf Club saw plenty of high scoring across the club’s events.

Last Tuesday in Young and the Rest of Us, Stella Taylor led the field home, while in Ruthless and Tootless, Peter Knight claimed “A” grade honours and Dan Riseley took “B” grade.

Wednesday’s medley stableford attracted 32 players, with “B” grade’s Betty Severs the overall winner on an impressive 41 points. Fiona Hallam topped “A” grade with 36 points.

Thursday’s medley four-ball par saw Laurie Thomson and Glenn Byrnes take victory with 12 points, while Dave Murrell and Allan Lawson finished runners-up on 11.

Saturday stableford medley attracted 128 players. “B” grade’s Spud Le Maitre won with 40 points on countback from Shane Sproule, who took “A” grade.

David Scott claimed “C” grade with 38 points, while Jenny Kesper also featured in the results.

The club has announced free golf clinics for female beginners aged 16 and over, to be held on Mondays. All equipment will be supplied, with sessions led by local member and former club captain Norm Backman, a low-handicap golfer known for sharing his technical knowledge of the game.

Wednesday medley stableford at the Lakes Entrance Golf Club was won by Bette Severs, with an impressive 41 points. (PS)
