Lakes Entrance parkrun delivered perfect conditions on Saturday morning, attracting 82 participants to the scenic five-kilometre esplanade course. Runners, joggers, and walkers joined from across Victoria, with visitors travelling from England and Scotland, and 25 first-time participants eager to experience the event.
Nine participants recorded personal best times, led home by Edward Wilson in 18 minutes nine seconds. Lauren Hemingway was the first female across the line, posting a personal best of 22 minutes 15 seconds. Other new PBs included Emma Klein (26.21), Bec Voss (26.54), Jeffrey Hey (28.55), Ben Calleja (29.43), Deanne McKendry (31.20), Karin Brown (42.40), Jayde Martin (43.52) and Jenny Robertson (57.55).
Runners represented eight clubs, including Lakes and District Runners, Elvet Striders, Crosbie Crew, Pakenham Road Runners, Achilles Running Club Melbourne, Southern Peninsula Sports Club, Australia Post Group, and Everlasting Fitness Runners.
Lakes Entrance parkrun departs from the rotunda at 8am every Saturday and welcomes participants of all abilities.
