Lakes Entrance Police, with support from Bairnsdale members, have arrested a 36-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman following an incident in the Church Street area on the morning of February 9.
The pair were also wanted in connection with a series of offences affecting the
East Gippsland community over recent weeks.
The 36-year-old man has been charged with high-risk, high-harm driving offences, assault, theft, and obtaining property by deception through the use of counterfeit $50 notes in the Lakes Entrance and Bairnsdale areas.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Bairnsdale Magistrates’ Court on March 4, 2026.
The 46-year-old woman has faced similar charges and has been granted bail, with her court appearance scheduled for July 1, 2026.
