East Gippsland Shire staff recently visited Inverloch Surf Beach to observe geosynthetic sandbag techniques that protect the coastline while preserving natural beach environments.
Insights gained will help inform future coastal protection projects at Lakes Entrance and Eagle Point, covering site preparation, tidal management, machinery access, and ongoing maintenance.
The visit was conducted in partnership with Bass Coast Shire Council and the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action.
