In almost ideal conditions for morning exercise, last Saturday’s Lakes Entrance parkrun attracted 64 enthusiasts eager for a run, jog, or walk.
The event welcomed 24 first-time participants keen to experience the scenic five-kilometre course along the picturesque esplanade, some chasing fitness goals and others enjoying the camaraderie and fun on offer.
The field was led home by Daniel Mauger in his first run on the course, finishing in 21 minutes and nine seconds. Lauren Hemingway was again the first female across the line, completing the trek in 23 minutes and 15 seconds.
Four runners recorded new personal bests, including Kelly Ford (29.11) and Ward Weare (30.55) in consecutive weeks, while Emily Hemingway (27.32) and Jenny Wagstaff (32.39) also bettered their previous best efforts.
Runners represented four different clubs, including Lakes and District Runners, Southern Peninsula Sports Club, and the Australia
Post Group.
Lakes Entrance parkrun departs from the rotunda at 8am every Saturday and welcomes participants of
all abilities.
