The Wellington Athletics Club enjoyed some outstanding results at the Victorian Country Championships held in Albury over the weekend.
The Les O’Brien Athletics Precinct was alive with
some of the state’s best athletes across three days
of intense competition.
Open-class female athlete Laura Coleman impressed, claiming victories in both the 800m and 500m events. The club also celebrated success in the 400m relay, with Cassie Farley, Emily Kanavan, Isabella Vitale and Lily Marazzato taking the win.
In the under-20 category, Michaella Rosato secured first place in the high jump with a winning leap of 1.55 metres. Meanwhile, Yuki Braybrook excelled in the under-16 age group, completing an 800m/1500m double.
Club members also recorded numerous placings and a
host of well-earned personal bests, highlighting the depth of talent at Wellington Athletics Club.
